Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa
Permanent residency visa for skilled workers nominated by Australian employers with three distinct application pathways.
The Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa is a permanent residency visa for skilled workers who have been nominated by an Australian employer. This visa offers flexibility through three distinct streams designed to accommodate different career pathways and employment situations.
The Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream is available to Subclass 482 SID visa holders who have completed two years of work on their current visa. Applicants no longer need continuous employment with a single employer—total time holding the 482 SID visa qualifies, though the most recent sponsoring employer must nominate you in your current occupation.
The Direct Entry stream targets individuals with occupations on the Core Skills Occupation List, meeting skills assessment requirements, and possessing at least three years of post-qualification skilled work experience. The Labour Agreement stream serves 482 visa holders under approved Labour Agreements, typically requiring a minimum of three years holding their 482 visa. Note that Subclass 186 visas have become increasingly complex and recommends professional assistance throughout the application process.
